Boss Sounds is a music festival which takes place each year in Newcastle Upon Tyne, in the north east of England. This project began as a commission from the BBC to photograph the legendary Toots & the Maytals for the Roots Project in 2003. The project continued with the help and assistance of Boss Sounds founder Adam Collerton, culminating in the Boss Sounds exhibitions at Cargo in London and at the Artworks Gallery in Newcastle in 2007.

This work has since gone on to feature in the PYMCA youth and music culture photography archive.
